Attention undeclared students with 30+ credits!
You've explored, you've experimented, and now it's time to officially claim your artistic home!
Wednesday, April 1st, is the declaration deadline for students with 30+ credits. This isn't just paperwork, it’s your ticket to:
- Early Registration (April 14th): Registester before the undeclared students.
- Dedicated Guidance: You’ll be assigned a faculty advisor who is an expert in your area of study.
Don't miss out! Students who do not declare will register later in April and must attend a required Group Advising Session to be cleared for registration.
Declare Your Major in 2 Quick Steps:
It’s easy-peasy!
- Form: Go to MyMCAD, find the Records Office tab, and submit the Declaration of Major Form.
- Connect: Email your Department Chair (listed below) to set up a brief, informal meet-and-greet. This is a great chance to introduce yourself!
Department Chair | Major |
Shannon Benine | Media Arts (Animation, Photography, Filmmaking, Art + Technology) |
Erik Brandt | Design (Illustration, Comic Arts, Graphic Design, Product Design) |
Howard Quednau | Fine Arts (Drawing/Painting, Sculpture + Expanded Media, Print Paper Book) |
Olaf Kuhlke | Creative Entrepreneurship |
Wanna declare a Minor, too? Great! You can follow the same steps, just submit a Declaration of Minor Form instead.
Visit the Academic Advising Resource Page on the MCAD Intranet for more details and degree information.
