Important End of the Semester Info - Spring 2025

3D Shop

The 3D Shop will close for the semester on Tuesday May 13 at 9:00 p.m. and open again on June 2nd for summer session. Starting June 3, returning students for Fall 2025 may request access to the shop by making a proposal to use the facilities. The hours of the shop will be 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Forms for this will be available on the 3D shop’s page soon. This must be submitted to the 3D shop via email. The shop will close for the summer on August 2 to prepare for fall.

MCAD Campus Safety Follow-Up (6/16/25)

Shortly after Midnight tonight (6/16/25), MCAD Campus Safety was alerted to possible vehicle break-ins in the Hive Surface Lot.  While investigating that report (two vehicles had broken windows, but nothing missing from either vehicle--owners of both vehicles were notified), approximately five gunshots were heard southeast of campus, and Minneapolis Police were notified by MCAD Campus Safety and responded to the scene.  A single male (no known MCAD affiliation) approached Campus Safety near the corner of 26th St.

May 2025 Diplomas Are Available!

Congratulations to the May 2025 graduating class!

We are happy to share that diplomas for May 2025 graduates are now available!

If you already submitted a Diploma Mailing Address Form or otherwise contacted us with your diploma mailing address, we will use that information to mail your diploma, and you do not need to contact our office again.  Many requests have already been processed and mailed.

In 1923, with income from an endowment fund established by Ethel Morrison Van Derlip, MCAD established the Ethel Morrison Van Derlip Traveling Scholarship.

This year Van Derlip Awards in the amount of $2,500 each will be awarded in the following departments;

Attempted Vehicle Burglary/Theft

On 6/2/25 at approximately 8:15pm Campus Safety was alerted to an attempted vehicle break in or theft, we were unable to ascertain exact intent. Suspect is a black male who was wearing a white T-Shirt and dark pants. The suspect was driving a dark colored Audi crossover MN license JPK 545. Suspect vehicle was seen exiting the lot northbound in the alley and turning west on 26th St. MPD was notified.

Break Room showcases the dedicated staff members of MCAD and the creative projects they engage in during their off hours. This exhibition is inspired by the concept of a staff break room—a space for employees to unwind, recharge, relax, and socialize and offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse into our vibrant and interconnected creative community.

Safety Bulletin - Robbery, 5/28/25

MCAD Campus Safety was just alerted to a Robbery that had occurred today (05/28/25) near the MIA parking ramp at the corner of 3rd Ave S and 25th St. E. shortly before 3:00 p.m..  A female in her 60’s was walking when approached by a heavier-set dark-skinned male, likely in his mid- to late-20’s, when he grabbed the bag she was carrying and pulled it away from her, tossing the bag to a nearby male, and then took off running towards Clinton Ave where he was seen getting into a dark blue Volvo at the corner of 26th St.
