3D Shop
The 3D shop will close for the semester on December 12 at 6:00 p.m. Please make sure you return all tools and remove all projects and materials from all shop spaces. Anything left will be recycled or thrown away. The shop will open for Spring semester 2026 on January 20 at 8:00 a.m. There is no shop access for students/faculty/staff from December 13th 2025 to January 19, 2026. Exhibition and Studio Services

Studio Clean Out!
All students who are graduating in December, studying abroad in the Spring semester, reducing to part time status, or withdrawing for the Spring semester MUST clean out their current studio spaces and locker areas by the end of day Sunday, December 21st (NO EXCEPTIONS). This includes all lockers, cubbies, and common areas. Please drop off your keys in the ESS KEY DROP OFF Box, located in the Exhibition and Studio Services Office (Room #207) or mail them to:

Help Desk
These are the important dates regarding the end of the semester and your technology resources at MCAD. If you're a student, soon-to-be grad, staff, or faculty member please take the time to read this to find out if anything here will impact you!
Computer Labs:
The main computer labs (330 and 331) will close for the semester at the end of the day on Friday, December 12, 2025.
Be sure to remove all personal and class files from the lab and library workstations before they close. They will clear themselves of user data over the break, and we don't want you to lose any files!
The computer labs will reopen on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 for Spring semester.
Help Desk and Technology Support (rm 319):
Regular fall semester hours will end at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 12, 2025.
The Help Desk will be open for limited walk-ins on Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. on the following dates:
December 15–19, 2025
January 5–16, 2026
The Help Desk will be available for limited support via email or phone on December 22-23, 2025. Our office will be fully closed from December 24, 2025 to January 4, 2026.
Regular spring semester hours will resume on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 from 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Monday–Friday.
Information Technology Services Office
The Information Technology Services's office will be closed from Wednesday, December 24, 2025 through Sunday, January 4th, 2026.
On Campus support will be limited to emergencies on Monday, December 22nd, and Tuesday, December 23rd 2025.
Normal hours and staff return will occur on Monday, January 5th, 2026.
Graduating or otherwise Leaving MCAD at the end of Fall 2025

MCAD Login and Email (Students):
MCAD Login (servers and labs) for returning students will remain active over the break.
MCAD Login (servers and labs) for Fall 2025 grads will be disabled 21 days from their date of graduation.
MCAD email accounts for Fall 2025 grads will remain active for one year after their date of graduation.
MCAD Login, Email, and Equipment (Faculty):
Be sure to remove or backup all personal and class files from shared faculty workstations before you leave for winter break.
Adjunct faculty using school-owned loaner laptops who are not teaching classes in the spring semester will need to return them to the Help Desk (rm 319) by noon on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. The Help Desk will follow up with adjuncts directly to arrange equipment drop–offs or renew laptop agreements with adjuncts who are keeping equipment to teach in the spring.
Current adjunct faculty that are teaching in the degree program during the Spring session will continue to have uninterrupted access to their MCAD login.
Current adjunct faculty that are NOT scheduled to teach in the Spring will have most services associated with their MCAD login disabled 21 days after the end of the current semester.
All adjunct@mcad.edu Gmail accounts will remain active for one year after their most recent contract end date.
MCAD PaperCut Account (Students & Faculty):
MCAD PaperCut accounts for all Fall students who are returning in the Spring will have continued access to their accounts and balances in the upcoming semester.
MCAD PaperCut accounts for Fall 2025 grads will be disabled 21 days from the date of graduation.
MCAD PaperCut accounts for adjunct faculty NOT teaching in the spring will be disabled 21 days after the end of the semester.
Remaining PaperCut balances cannot be disbursed and will expire when accounts are deactivated. Please contact tyler_page@mcad.edu if you have any questions or concerns.
Student Storage Directories / Student Web Sites:
studio.mcad.edu network storage and student websites for Fall 2025 grads will be removed 21 days after graduation.

Learning Center and Accessibility Services
The Learning Center (L106) will be open for limited in-person and virtual tutoring, undeclared academic advising, and academic coaching appointments during Winter Break. Please view the Learning Center Appointments Page for staff availability.

Checkout over Winter Break
Students returning next semester can checkout and renew books over winter break starting Monday, 12/8. So any book with a 4 week loan period checked out or renewed starting Monday, 12/8 will be due the first day of class, January 20, 2024.
Graduating students and students not registered for classes next semester need to return all library material by 12/14.

Main, MFA, and Morrison Buildings
Beginning December 1st, all exterior doors to the Main, MFA, and Morrison buildings will remain locked at all times. Enrolled students, staff, and faculty may enter any campus building by presenting their MCAD ID at the card access reader. All Main Building entrances are equipped with an intercom for visitors to request access.
During Winter Break (December 13th, 2025–January 4th, 2026), campus buildings will be closed to visitors. Only individuals with a valid MCAD ID will be permitted to enter.
The Welcome Desk will close at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, December 12th, and will resume normal business hours on January 19th. Please notify Campus Safety in advance of any expected visitors during this period.
Media Center
The Media Center will be closed from Monday, December 15th, until Tuesday, January 21st. Regular hours of operation will resume on Tuesday, January 20th at 9 am.
All equipment reservations are by Personal Proposal only. The deadline for Personal Proposals to check out equipment over Winter Break is Tuesday. December 9th.
The Black, Gray, and Sound Studios will be closed starting Monday, December 15th. Regular hours will resume on Tuesday, January 20th, at 9:00 a.m.
Printshop and Paper Studios
- We will be closed December 13-January 19 for cleaning, maintenance, studio prep for summer classes. During this time there will be no undergraduate, CE, MFA student, /staff/faculty or Jerome/McKnight Fellow access.
- The Printshop and Paper Studios will close on Friday, December 12 at 8:00 p.m and will reopen again for spring semester, 2025 on Tuesday, January 20 at 9:00 a.m.
- Please clean out all lockers, flat files, remove all paper, remove screens, clean out flat files, and remove personal items; anything left behind will be recycled.
- Please note: remove your screens since they are the personal property of students/faculty and staff and we do not have space to store them.
- Please return any borrowed tools, supplies, materials and clean any Printshop screens you have checked out.
- Returning MCAD students who will be studying in the spring, and want shop access who are not taking a Spring ‘26 class, need to fill out a Printshop or Paper Studio Personal Proposal and the Printshop Rules or Paper Studio Rules forms and turn them into the Printshop Director or the Printshop Technician’s Mailbox, or to the office in room 415 inside the Printshop.
- Students who are PPB Majors or Minors, continuing MFA students or students who are taking two or more PPB classes in the summer or the fall need to fill out a Late Night Proposal for S’26 24 hour access.
- If students are continuing at MCAD for the spring semester, and want to work in the Printshop or Paper Studio, they can label their flat files and lockers with purple tape and put "Save for Spring 2026" on the tape, and put on new purple flat file tags, when they fill out their Proposals.

Student Counseling and Wellness Office
From December 13th to January 17th, the MCAD Student Counseling and Wellness Center will not hold regular office hours. Some staff will be intermittently available for a limited number of virtual and/or in-person appointments for undergraduate and MFA students that are physically within the state of MN. Students that are needing support during the long break and/or students with barriers to outside care (un-insured or under-insured, international, etc.) are encouraged to email studentcounseling@mcad.edu to schedule an appointment.
