One Confirmed COVID-19 Case

Dear MCAD Community,

Forward, Together: Fall 2020 Plan

Dear MCAD Community,

I hope you and your families remain healthy and are finding ways to enjoy this summer. It’s hard to believe that we are about six weeks away from the start of the 2020/21 school year. While we recognize that this fall semester will look different than any previous semester at MCAD, our faculty and staff are looking forward to providing a safe and engaging learning environment.

Thoughts for the MCAD Community on the George Floyd Tragedy

Dear MCAD Community,

Like all of you, I am deeply disturbed by the tragic death of George Floyd on Monday. As a person of color and as a parent, it is hard for me not to feel deep anguish and alarm at these events. While I unequivocally support that justice must be served for George Floyd and his family, justice and equity was something owed to him and his family a long time ago–well before the moment of his passing.

New Vice President of Academic Affairs

Dear MCAD Community,

I am pleased to announce the hiring of Robert Ransick as the next Vice President of Academic Affairs. As of July 1, Ransick will replace retiring Vice President Karen Wirth, who began her career at MCAD in the early 1990s and also served as interim president for the 2018-2019 academic year. When we can be together in person, I look forward to honoring Karen for her invaluable contributions to the college.

April 24, 2020 Update from President Sethi

Dear MCAD Community,

First, I want to thank you for taking your time to participate in the on-line forums that have taken place over the last two weeks. We have had the chance to hear directly from our graduating seniors, non-graduating undergrad students, and our masters candidates. This afternoon we hosted a forum for our MCAD staff. With one more on next week’s schedule for our faculty, we would like to continue these conversations to keep the lines of communication open and support idea sharing within our community.
