Course Schedule Release!

Friday April 3, 9:00 a.m.

Get ready for registration (and the end of winter hibernation)!

Before you fully thaw from winter hibernation, it’s time to play "Choose Your Own Adventure: Academic Edition." Here’s how to get ready for Advising and Registration without losing your mind.... to spring fever.

Mark Your Calendars (Seriously, don't miss these dates)

  • Course Schedule Release: Friday, April 3rd, 9am

  • Declared Students (30+ credits): Tuesday, April 14th.

    • Bonus:There are NO CLASSES this day for ALL students. Use that extra time to actually look at your degree audit. Or just sleep. We won't judge.

    • Double Bonus:Talent Show in the College Center @ 7pm, hosted by the Peer Mentors!

  • First Years (< 30 credits) & Undeclared Students: Wednesday, April 22nd @ 9:00 AM.

    • Set an alarm. Set twelve alarms. Tell your roommates to shake you awake. Don't let your ideal schedule bloom without you!

The "Spring Cleaning" Checklist: How to Prepare

Follow these steps, so your advising appointment is a breeze (and not a disaster):

  1. Check Your Stats: Grab your Degree Audit (MyMCAD → Academic Advising → Degree Audit Report (PDF)). Think of it as your academic spring cleaning inventory. It shows which requirements you've dusted off and what's left to tackle.

  2. Window Shop for Classes: Download the full course schedule from the Registration tab. Watch for Prerequisites. Don't try to plant a level-3 if you haven't laid the prerequisite soil yet. It won't grow.

  3. Undeclared? Don't Just Drift Like a Dandelion: Check out Sample Degree Audits on the Intranet (Resources → Academic Advising) to see which major's landscape you like best.

  4. Group Advising (Undeclared only): Sign up for a Group Advising Session ASAP! Like flowers in a garden, there’s room for everyone, so only take one spot and don't pick your neighbor's. And bring your laptop!

Come Ready: Don’t show up to advising like a frozen statue. Bring a list of the courses you qualify for and actually want to take!
