Exhibition and Studio Services (ESS, formerly Academic Services) oversees the reservation, use, and preparation of over 120 exhibition and critique spaces throughout the College, and monitors the proper installation of artwork in these spaces. We provide installation training and information to students and faculty about paint, materials, space, lighting, and tools. In addition, ESS is responsible for student studio assignment and usage, Intranet room reservations, setup and maintenance of the Drawing and Painting studios, and coordination of fine art figure model faculty requests for undergraduate and continuing education classes, as well as drawing co-ops.
Our department also coordinates the installation of artwork for a yearly calendar of special exhibitions and events - Junior Reviews, MFA Mid-Program and Thesis Exhibitions, Commencement Exhibition, the MCAD Art Sale, and Art Auction.
