Exhibition and Studio Services (formally Academic Services) coordinates and monitors the installation of student work throughout the College, other venues off campus, and provides installation training and information to students about paint, materials, space, lighting and tools. In addition, this department is responsible for classroom furniture and equipment, student studio assignment and usage, critique space preparation, Intranet room reservations, special events coordination and setup, and fine art figure model faculty requests and coordination for undergraduate, continuing education classes, and drawing co-ops.
RESERVING SPACE ON CAMPUS
To reserve an exhibition space or critique space on campus, please speak to our office and studio coordinator in person by stopping by our office (Room 133), or by emailing exhibition_studio_services@mcad.edu. We offer exhibition space on a first come basis, and recommend scheduling in advance as much as possible.
For other reservations, like collaborative spaces and room reservations, please use the appropriate links below under Resources.
ART INSTALLATION
Our Exhibition Guidelines, found below under Exhibitions, is a great resource covering the specifics of exhibition and installation guidelines. For additional information or questions regarding installation, email exhibition_studio_services@mcad.edu or stop by our office.
We offer in-person assistance with art installation via appointment. These appointments are necessary if you are installing media equipment from the Media Center. To make an appointment, with the Exhibitions Services Technician, Madeline Garcia, please email exhibition_studio_services@mcad.edu with details about your installation including what you need, when you need it and what space you need it in. Though we are sometimes available for walk-ins, we can not guarantee availability. If you have a site-specific installation planned, or need advice on how to install anything, please contact us ahead of time!
For installations outside of our designated exhibition spaces, on the MCAD campus grounds or in alternative locations, please fill out the MCAD Grounds / Personal Proposal Form and email it to facilities@mcad.edu and exhibition_studio_services@mcad.edu for approval.
STUDENT STUDIO SPACE
If you would like an individual studio space for the year, please fill out the studio application form below under the Student Studio Space tab.
