You may notice a version of your email address that is formatted "firstname_lastname@mcad.edu" displayed in some MCAD systems, such as Canvas or Paylocity. This is not a separate email account but rather an "alias" email address, or a sort of "nickname" for your true email address, which is your MCAD login username@mcad.edu. Your MCAD login username is your first initial, your last name, and in some cases a few numbers. Any messages sent to the firstname_lastname@mcad.edu alias email address will be delivered to your MCAD email account, just as if they were sent to your username@mcad.edu address.
This exists as a holdover from past systems and to help some current systems integrate smoothly, as well as to help MCAD community members locate others' email addresses by full name. In most cases, you can simply disregard mentions of the alias email. If you have any questions, contact the Help Desk.
