The workload in each online class is the same as what is expected of a normal studio or liberal arts college class. On campus, for example, a three-credit studio class meets for five hours a week, and students are expected to do roughly the same amount of work outside of class.
Blackboard is MCAD's platform for learning online. To login to Blackboard, go to http://learn.mcad.edu. You will need your MCAD username and password to login.
I. Get your MCAD Username
After you register for a course, here's the sequence of events.
The Orientation Assignment is your opportunity to introduce yourself to the other members in the course and to review or learn basic Blackboard skills. We encourage you to do the Orientation Assignment for every online class, even if you have already done it before.
The sooner you log in, the better! You can start getting familiar with your course on the Sunday before classes start.
After you log in,
Full-time, degree-seeking students don't have to buy it. They have free access to the Adobe Creative Suite with their MCAD account credentials. Inquire with the Help Desk for more information.
