Laptops in the Screenprinting Studio 425 can display to the wall mounted LCD monitor either via HDMI cable or Apple Airplay.
Connecting With HDMI
- An HDMI cord and Mini DisplayPort adaptor is provided in the room. If missing, please visit the Media Center for a replacement. Plug the HDMI cord into your laptop (either directly or via adaptor, depending on your model of laptop.) Plug the other end into the HDMI wall port under the LCD.
- Power on the LCD using the Samsung remote located in the room. If the remote is missing, please visit the Media Center for a replacement.
- Press the Source button on the remote until HDMI1 is selected.
- Your laptop's screen should now appear on the LCD monitor. If it is not appearing, disconnect the HDMI cable from your computer, wait a monent, then reconnect.
- Setting the Sound Output correctly from your laptop: You MUST set your computer to use HDMI as the sound out or you will not hear audio from the LCD.
- On your laptop, open System Preferences > Sound
- Click the "Output" tab and select SAMSUNG from the list*
- Volume for the LCD can be controlled through the LCD's remote.
- When finished, press the red Power button on the remote to turn off the LCD.
Connecting With Apple AirPlay
- Power on the LCD using the Samsung remote located in the room. If the remote is missing, please visit the Media Center for a replacement.
- Press the Source button on the remote until HDMI2 is selected.
- Set your laptop to stream through AirPlay:
- Open System Preferences > Displays
- In the bottom AirPlay Display settings, choose "Screenprinting Studio 425 Apple TV"
- The LCD will display a four digit AirPlay code. Enter this on your computer to synch.
- The Sound Output should automatically change to stream to AirPlay. If you cannot hear audio from the soundbar speakers :
- On your laptop, open System Preferences > Sound
- Click the "Output" tab and select "Screenprinting Studio 425 Apple TV"*
- When finished, press the red Power button on the remote to turn off the LCD.
* Audio-out through Mini DisplayPort, HDMI, or AirPlay is only supported on the following Apple laptops:
- MacBook pro (Retina, Mid 2012 and later)
- MacBook Pro (Mid 2010 and later)
